It was a hot day in California and this strong, pretty woman was doing things most of us couldn’t do. I get excited when I see women like that. Billions of guys like sports and they like women. When you put the 2 together, of course its going to be popular. Most guys like Lindsay Lohan, but I doubt she could do what Jenn did.

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — The sweltering heat of southern California brought out the best yet in Jenn Stuczynski.

The 25-year-old from Churchville, N.Y., broke her American record in the pole vault at the Adidas Track Classic on Sunday, outshining Tyson Gay’s sweep of the 100 and 200 meters and other strong performances by a powerhouse field at the Adidas Track Classic.

Stuczynski cleared 16 feet, 03/4 inches to break the mark of 16-0 she set last year in the Reebok Grand Prix in New York. Only world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva has gone higher.

“I feel like she is within sights,” Stuczynski said of the Russian great, “but I still need to become a little more consistent and a little more confident, and there are still some technical things I need to work on.”

Stuczynski also broke the American record at the Adidas meet last year, only to top it again in New York.

Temperatures on the track reached 110 degrees, and it was into the 90s in the shade, in front of half-empty bleachers at the Home Depot Center.

Jeremy Wariner, at 24 already an Olympic gold medalist and two-time world champion, said he nearly pulled out of the race with a sore hamstring. But the lanky Texan decided he felt good enough to go, and won in 44.42, second-fastest in the world this year behind fellow American LaShawn Merritt’s 44.34. Wariner was satisfied.

“Times will drop no matter what,” he said. “I know come trials, I’ll be ready to run with everybody. I went 44.4 with a little tight hamstring, so no telling what I can run when I’m healthy.”

Allyson Felix concluded an emotional week with a disappointing fourth-place finish in the 100. She withdrew from the 200 under orders from her coach Bob Kersee, who felt she was too drained after returning from Doha, Qatar, last Saturday, attending the funeral of her boyfriend hurdler Kenneth Ferguson’s father in Detroit and participating in graduation ceremonies at USC on Saturday.

“I’m definitely a little disappointed. I haven’t run the 200 yet,” Felix said. “I was looking forward to opening up. Especially after not doing too well in the 100, I would definitely would have liked to have been in the 200, but I kind of have to trust him (Kersee).”

In a race that featured seven of the 10 fastest women last year, reigning Olympic gold medalist and world champion Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica won the 100 in 11.14, edging American Lauryn Williams by .01 seconds. The same runners finished 1-2 at last year’s worlds, as well. Marshevet Hooker was disqualified after the event’s second false start.

“When you put that much of a field together, I’m sure everybody was playing a mental game with themselves last night,” Williams said. “I really think that was better than the Olympics. You put those same people on the line in August, I guarantee you it will be under 11 seconds.”

Bernard Lagat survived a NASCAR-like crash at the start to pull away at the end and win the 1,500 in 3:35.13 seconds. The start was recalled after 85 meters when Lopez Lomong and Nate Brannen tumbled to the track. Nick Symmonds got a gash in his right knee when he was spiked trying to hurdle the Lomong’s feet and pulled out of the race early.

“It reminded me of the 2004 Olympics when I had my Kenyan friend do a false start, so some fresh memories came back,” Lagat said. “When something like that happens you have to recoup again real quickly. You have no time to waste. You have about 15 seconds to re-start the race with the same focus.”

The Kenyan-born Lagat won his first world titles, in the 1,500 and 5,000, last year in his first international competition as a member of the U.S. team.

Gay won his first 100 of the season in 10.05 seconds and the 200 in 20.08, both into slight headwinds. He edged training partner Darvis Patton in the 100 by .01 seconds, then eased up in a one-sided victory in the 200.

Neither time was spectacular, but that didn’t bother Gay, who in two weeks is scheduled for a 100 showdown with Jamaican Usain Bolt at the Reebok meet May 31 in New York. Bolt ran the second-fastest 100 ever, 9.76 seconds, two weeks ago. It’s the only race on Gay’s schedule before the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore., June 27-July 6.

“I think I was mentally drained today,” Gay said, “thinking a lot, putting a little pressure on myself.”

It gets easier, he said, with the year’s first 100 out of the way.

“I really believe I don’t have to run fast times now,” he said. “I just have to win.”

Hilary is in “War, Inc”. There’s a scene where she drops a live scorpion in her pants. She said she had to do it several times because he didn’t want to go in there. I found it amazing that she would risk getting stung like that. She said she grew up in Texas where there are lots of scorpions. Maybe she has some special knowledge about how to hold and drop this dangerous critter into her pants in such a way that he won’t sting her. Steve Irwin knew things about animals that most people didn’t know, but I don’t think he ever did this.

Miley apologized to her fans and said she felt embarrassed by the pictures. It seems like she thought it was a good idea, but changed her mind after the photo shoot. Sometimes it happens that way, so it was with Jessica Biel. If Miley doesn’t like the pictures, does that mean Vanity Fair will cancel publishing them? Do they have a contract making it manditory? Miley can’t sign contracts but her parents can. Maybe Miley was convinced that even though she feels uncomfortable about it, she should let it go since she’s already come this far. Maybe her apology and her statement about her feelings were to patronize the people who don’t like what she did. The people who do like it can still see the pictures and Miley has all the bases covered. It sounds like politics. I’m not saying she’s lying, I don’t know this girl. I don’t object to the pictures. It doesn’t matter what people look like, but most people think it does, therefore it matters. As far as I know she wasn’t being mistreated. I’ve seen girls that young wearing less on the beach. I guess the beach is considered a sanctuary. Her career is certainly not over, she’d have to do more than this to make that happen.

Britney Spears is Free

Britney was released early because the hospital determined that she’s no longer a danger to herself or others. She went to her house and then drove off in her new Mercedes. Later she was seen with a male passenger. The restraining order is being held against Sam Lutfi, who hasn’t been served yet. Lynne Spears said that Sam drugged Britney and stole things from her house. Britney’s father still has control over the money for now.

Britney Spears Back in The Hospital

Britney has almost 2 weeks left before she’ll be released. On Feb.14 there is a hearing to decide who will control her money and property. I thought the days of locking people up because they’re strange was over, I was wrong. You can certainly argue that Britney is more than just strange. I want her to get help, but it can’t be done by force. She’s scheduled to come out Feb.18, what happens then? If the court lets her father control her money on the 14th, 4 days later Britney will be a free woman but she’ll have to fight it out in court to get her property back. No judge has the right to give someone’s money to somebody else because that person is weird. Britney’s not a minor anymore. Is she going to be on some kind of probation? Is the judge going to watch how she acts after she comes out and then decide whether she can have her money back?

Alycia Lane was in New York with a few other people riding in a taxi cab. She was unhappy with the slow traffic and at one point got out of the car and walked up to the car in front of them. She took pictures of the people inside who happened to be under cover cops. A female cop asked who she was. They argued about it and the cop identified herself as a police officer. Acording to police, Alycia punched the cop in the face and called her a dyke. Alycia is a reporter for channel 3 in Philadelphia.

Recently she drove thru a red light while talking on her cell phone with the boys in the car. I keep hoping somebody will help her become a better person. No one can do that until they get to know her, and just because they know her doesn’t mean they’re going to help her.

Our princess is back. At about 12:15 AM pacific time this morning, Paris walked out of prison. She was wearing a grey shirt over a white t-shirt. She was smiling and waving. She shook hands with some people and went to the car with her parents waiting inside. She was hugging her mother, they got in and drove off to Rick and Kathy’s house. There was a large group of people, not just at the jail but further down the street. When the car stopped for a red light, the reporters surrounded the car and took pictures. Paris will be on the Larry King show. He’ll probably ask her about the charity work she said she’d do. If she comes thru on this, she’ll be more popular than she ever was. Paris is still on probation untill March 2009. I hope she keeps her pretty nose clean.

I can’t read her mind, but what ever humanity she has inside her, I hope it develops. Most of all, I hope she never drives intoxicated again.
